The Fiji Medical Association (FMA) has appointed Dr. Alipate Vakamocea as its new President. The election for the FMA Officer Bearers for the 2024-2026 term was held during the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, September 14, at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort & Spa.
Dr. Ronald Kumar has been elected as the new Vice President, while Dr. Miriama Tukana and Dr. Ahmed Shakeel Shariff will serve as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. The new executive council members include former President Dr. Basharat Munshi, Dr. William May, Dr. Sailosi Ratumaitavuki, Dr. Myrielle Allen, Dr. Pritisheel Kirti, and Dr. Sudiksha Singh.
The Fiji Medical Association has congratulated the newly elected office bearers and anticipates their leadership in furthering the interests of the medical community and enhancing healthcare excellence in Fiji. The organization remains dedicated to advocating for the welfare of medical professionals, improving the healthcare system, and boosting public health outcomes nationwide.
The newly elected team is set to serve a two-year term and is committed to continuing the legacy of excellence and service that the Association has maintained for over sixty years.
