A 39-year-old man from Nakasi has been charged by the Fiji Police MPAiSA task force in connection with an alleged case of fraud. The individual is accused of dishonestly acquiring $190 from a member of the public on January 21, 2023, using a mobile money transfer platform. According to police investigations, the victim transferred the amount as a deposit for a rental car that was advertised on Facebook. It is alleged that the accused then withdrew the funds and ceased all communication. He is set to appear in the Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
