A 39-year-old man from Nakasi has been charged by the Fiji Police’s MPAiSA task force in connection with an alleged case of obtaining financial advantage. The man is accused of dishonestly acquiring $190 from a member of the public on January 21, 2023, through a mobile money transfer platform. Investigations revealed that the victim sent the funds as a deposit for a rental car that was advertised on Facebook. Following the transaction, the accused reportedly withdrew the money and ceased all communication with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in Nasinu Magistrates Court today.
