A 27-year-old man is facing charges from the Fiji Police M-PAiSA task force for allegedly committing fraud. The suspect is accused of deceiving two victims in August and September by obtaining a total of $150 for items he advertised for sale on Facebook but never delivered.

He has been charged with two counts of Obtaining Financial Advantage by Deception and is expected to appear at the Nadi Magistrates Court.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance when engaging in online transactions. As digital marketplaces grow, so do opportunities for fraud, making it essential for consumers to verify sellers and ensure secure payment methods. This incident serves as a reminder to everyone to exercise caution and investigate before completing online purchases to protect themselves from potential scams.

In a hopeful light, the swift action taken by the M-PAiSA task force showcases the commitment of law enforcement to tackle fraud and protect consumers, fostering a safer online shopping environment in Fiji.
