Fiji’s rugby team will see Ponipate Loganimasi stepping in for the suspended Semi Radradra during their match against Ireland in Dublin on Sunday. This marks one of three changes made to the squad following their thrilling victory against Wales two weeks ago.
Coach Mick Byrne had previously implemented significant changes ahead of Fiji’s challenging 33-19 win over Spain, but he is now bringing back his strongest lineup for the upcoming clash against Ireland. Along with Loganimasi’s inclusion, Mesake Vocevoce will take the place of Isoa Nasilasila in the second row, and Luke Tagi will replace Sam Tawake at tighthead prop.
Caleb Muntz, who showcased impressive performance in the win against Wales, will once again be leading the team’s offensive strategy at Lansdowne Road.
The confirmed lineup for the match is as follows: Vuate Karawalevu; Jiuta Wainiqolo, Waisea Nayacalevu (co-captain), Josua Tuisova, Ponipate Loganimasi; Caleb Muntz, Frank Lomani; Elia Canakaivata, Kitione Salawa, Meli Derenalagi; Temo Mayanavanua, Mesake Vocevoce; Luke Tagi, Tevita Ikanivere (co-captain), Eroni Mawi.
As the team gears up for this challenging match against a formidable opponent, there is an air of optimism among Fijian fans. With a blend of experienced players and emerging talents, Fiji is poised to build on its recent successes and make a strong impression in Dublin.
