The Fiji Meteorological Service has lifted the heavy rain alert that had previously been in effect for the nation. While this is a welcome development, weather forecasts indicate that occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected across various regions, including the Coral Coast to Navua, Greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu, Interior Ra, Naitasiri, Serua-Namosi, Northern Ra, Southern Bua, and Cakudrove provinces, as well as the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant as isolated heavy rainfall may still occur, potentially leading to flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas. However, in contrast to the areas expecting rain, other parts of the country are anticipated to experience generally fine weather, with only afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Service strongly encourages the public to stay attentive and keep abreast of local weather updates to ensure safety during this transition. With the heavy rain alert now canceled, there is a sense of relief, but continued caution is paramount to navigate the dynamic weather conditions effectively.
