The Fiji Law Society (FLS) has voiced serious concerns following a formal complaint filed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) against the reinstated Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde. FLS President Wylie Clarke noted that it is unusual for a governing body like the ODPP to comment on such allegations, particularly with statements attributed to Acting DPP Nancy Tikoisuva.

Clarke emphasized the critical nature of preserving an individual’s right to a fair trial, arguing that publicizing allegations can infringe upon privacy rights and disrupt judicial integrity.
