New Zealand’s Ka’iulani Scott has been named as the sole overseas player in the Fiji Kulas’ inaugural training squad for 2025. This 23-member team will convene for a training camp at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba from February 3 to 7.

This camp is significant as it kicks off a rigorous preparation schedule for crucial tournaments, including the OFC Women’s Nations Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Oceania Qualifiers. It marks the first of five planned camps for the year, all aimed at enhancing player skills, fostering teamwork, and strategic planning ahead of these important competitions.

The training sessions will concentrate on tactical development, physical conditioning, and building team coherence. A highlight of the camp will be a friendly match against the Maori Women’s National Team on February 6, providing the squad with valuable early-season match experience.

The complete Fiji Kulas squad features talented athletes such as Elesi Tabunase, Sisilia Kuladina, Sereana Naweni, and others, reflecting a mix of emerging and established players ready to bolster their competitive edge in international women’s football.

The inclusion of overseas-based talent like Scott symbolizes Fiji’s commitment to advancing women’s football in the region and building upon existing successes. This structured training approach will not only benefit the current squad but also inspire future generations of female athletes in Fiji.

In summary, the Fiji Kulas are embarking on an encouraging path of preparation and development, aiming for success on the international stage while promoting the growth and visibility of women’s football in the region. The engagement of international players represents a hopeful outlook for the team’s future prospects.
