New Zealand’s Ka’iulani Scott has been selected as the only overseas player in the Fiji Kulas’ initial training squad for 2025. The 23-member team will commence training from February 3 to 7 at the Fiji FA Academy located in Ba.
This training camp is crucial as it sets in motion an intensive preparation schedule for important upcoming events, notably the OFC Women’s Nations Cup and the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Oceania Qualifiers. The camp is the first of five planned for the year, focusing on player development, teamwork, and strategic planning ahead of these major tournaments.
During the camp, sessions will concentrate on tactical enhancement, physical conditioning, and building team cohesion. An exciting feature of this camp is a friendly match scheduled for February 6 against the Maori Women’s National Team, which will provide valuable early-season match experience for the players.
The complete Fiji Kulas squad includes: Elesi Tabunase, Sisilia Kuladina, Sereana Naweni, Koleta Likuculacula, Cema Nasau, Asela Cokanasiga, Lupe Niubalavu, Evivi Buka, Mereseni Waqali, Adi Mea, Caroline Qalivere, Filomena Racea, Sofi Diyalowai, Ema Mereia, Leba Narieta, Sonia Alfred, Selai Tikoisuva, Naomi Waqanidrola, Pijila Kilaiwaca, Seruwaia Laulaba, Katarina Nailele, and Emily Esposito, alongside Ka’iulani Scott.
This development is a positive step for Fiji’s women’s football as they gear up for high-stakes competitions. The involvement of overseas-based talent like Scott is indicative of the expanding horizons for the team as they build towards greater success on the international stage.
