The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) is encouraging citizens throughout Fiji to participate in public consultations regarding the electricity tariff rate structure, which will be held from January 6 to January 15. This initiative is designed to collect feedback on the proposed tariff changes put forth by Energy Fiji Limited (EFL).

The consultations are inclusive, welcoming input from a diverse range of participants, including household consumers, community organizations, businesses, industries, government bodies, political entities, social organizations, and youth representatives.

Beyond the in-person meetings, individuals will also have the option to submit their views in writing or through an online survey provided by the FCCC during the consultation timeframe. To facilitate well-informed contributions, the FCCC has released a non-confidential version of EFL’s tariff submission on its website. Additionally, an Electricity Bill Comparison Calculator is available, allowing consumers to estimate how the proposed rate changes may impact their bills.

The FCCC has indicated that details regarding the venues for sessions that are currently marked “TBC,” along with any scheduling adjustments, will be shared through its official communications platforms. The Commission is strongly encouraging Fijians to seize this opportunity to voice their opinions and engage in the consultation process that could significantly influence future electricity tariffs.
