Fiji Junior Kulas Ready to Tackle Tonga in Thrilling Championship Opener!

The Fiji Junior Kulas are poised to compete in the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, beginning Sunday at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. Head coach Marika Rodu has expressed confidence in the team as they enter the final week of preparation.

“The preparation is going well, and we are in the final stages as we gear up for the first match against Tonga,” Rodu shared with Fiji FA Media. He emphasized that the team is in good condition and ready to face their opponents.

Rodu expects the opening match against Tonga to be challenging, acknowledging that the first game often presents difficulties. “We anticipate that the match against Tonga will not be easy, as the opening game is always tough. Our focus is to settle in and get into the game quickly,” he noted.

The coach pointed out Tonga’s defensive strategy, which typically involves a low block that could pose challenges for Fiji’s attacking efforts. However, Rodu remains hopeful about the chances of the Junior Kulas, stating, “We will adapt and aim to secure the three points on Sunday.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM.
