The Digicel Fiji Junior Kulas are excited for their opening match in the OFC U-16 Women’s Championship, scheduled for this Sunday at Suva’s HFC Bank Stadium. With the tournament approaching, Head Coach Marika Rodu expressed confidence in the team’s preparations.
“The preparation is well underway, and we’re in our final week, keeping focused. The girls are in good shape and eager for our opening match against Tonga,” Rodu stated. He acknowledged the challenges that come with the first match, particularly against a defensively strong team like Tonga.
“The first match is always tough, but our goal is to start strong and quickly settle into the game,” he added. Rodu noted that Tonga’s defensive tactics may pose challenges for Fiji in scoring, but he remains optimistic about their plans.
“We’ve been working on strategies to break their defense and secure those crucial three points on Sunday,” he explained. The match between Fiji and Tonga is set to begin at 3 PM this Sunday.
