The Fiji Junior Kulas are poised to compete in the OFC Under-16 Women’s Championship, which begins on Sunday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. Head coach Marika Rodu has conveyed his confidence in the team’s preparations as they finalize their readiness for the tournament.
Rodu stated, “Preparation is well underway as we enter our last week before the competition. The players are in great shape and are gearing up for our opening match against Tonga.” He acknowledged that the first game can often be the most challenging, and he expects a tough encounter with Tonga.
“The match against Tonga will not be straightforward since the initial game is always a tough one. Our aim is to stay composed and quickly engage in the play,” Rodu explained. He emphasized Tonga’s defensive strategy, which often involves a low block, making it essential for Fiji to find effective ways to penetrate their defense.
Despite the anticipated challenges, Rodu remains hopeful about the Junior Kulas securing a victory, stating, “We will analyze their tactics and aim to earn the three points on Sunday.” The match is scheduled to start at 3 PM.
