The Fiji Junior Bula Boys are focused on maintaining their momentum from previous U-20 World Cup qualifications as the 2024 OFC U19 Men’s Championship begins in Samoa.
With high expectations, the team has been preparing intensively for over a month to continue Fiji’s strong legacy and aim for a spot in the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Coach Marika Rodu discussed the team’s preparation and the pressure to uphold past performances.
“We’ve been together for four weeks; this will be our fifth. Our previous U-19 team went to the World Cup, so it’s a challenge for us to ensure we maintain some level of consistency,” said Rodu.
Rodu emphasized the importance of starting strong as the tournament kicks off tomorrow.
“For us, it is important to lead the group from our side, so we start with business tomorrow,” he added.
Fiji begins the tournament by facing Tahiti at 11 a.m.
