The Fiji Junior Bula Boys are determined to maintain the momentum from their previous two U-20 World Cup qualifications as the 2024 OFC U19 Men’s Championship gets underway in Samoa.
With high expectations, the team has been intensively preparing for over a month to continue Fiji’s strong legacy and qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Coach Marika Rodu spoke about the team’s preparation and the pressure to live up to past performances.
“We’ve been together for four weeks; this will be our fifth. Our previous U-19 team went to the World Cup, so it’s a challenge for us to ensure we maintain some level of consistency,” said Rodu.
Rodu emphasized the importance of a strong start with the tournament set to begin tomorrow.
“For us, it is important to lead the group from our side, so we start with business tomorrow,” he added.
Fiji kicks off the tournament facing Tahiti at 11am.
