Leeds Rhinos have secured the signing of Fiji wing Maika Sivo from the Parramatta Eels on a three-year contract. The 31-year-old is currently representing Fiji at the Pacific Championships and has been a key player for Parramatta since joining the club in 2019, where he has scored over 100 tries in the NRL.
Sivo’s move to Headingley will see him reunite with Leeds head coach Brad Arthur, who previously managed Parramatta for a decade. The signing of Sivo marks the Rhinos’ fourth addition since the conclusion of the 2024 Super League season, following the acquisitions of Samoa’s Keenan Palasia, Australian second-rower Cooper Jenkins, and full-back Jake Connor from Huddersfield Giants.
Sivo expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “Brad is a big part of who and where I am today. When he sent me a message to ask if I wanted to come to Leeds, I said ‘I’m coming’.” He acknowledged that the decision to move to the other side of the world was significant for him and his partner but emphasized their eagerness for the new challenge.
