The Human Resources sector is entering a dynamic phase as the quest for professional recognition intensifies amid heightened competition. The recently held 14th Annual Human Resources Awards highlighted this trend, with a remarkable surge in the number of entries, indicating both growth and mounting pressure within the industry.

Kameli Batiweti, the President of the Fiji Human Resources Institute (FHRI), emphasized that the increase in submissions illustrates a growing commitment among companies to uphold HR standards. “The event has been great. I must say from the offset, before coming in tonight, we’ve sold out. The tickets are sold out and we still have a lot of enquiries. Companies wanting to come, unfortunately, there’s not enough space,” Batiweti noted.

This growing interest in the awards not only showcases the efforts of various organizations but also heightens the competition for smaller firms striving to make a mark. Batiweti remarked that the influx of new entrants has altered the competitive landscape, compelling established organizations to innovate and adapt in order to maintain their prominence in a rapidly evolving environment.

Looking to the future, the FHRI is dedicated to reinforcing HR practices and ensuring that professional development aligns with the ever-changing demands of the industry. The emphasis on quality and professionalism in HR is indeed promising for the future of the sector, inspiring organizations to elevate their standards and practices.
