Fiji Hosts Key Meeting for South Pacific Youth Leaders

The Fijian government, through its Ministry of Youth and Sports, held a traditional welcoming ceremony for participants of the South Pacific Senior Youth Officials Meeting. Mr. Meli Nacuva, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, is set to lead the meeting, which begins tomorrow.

During the ceremony, PS Nacuva extended a warm welcome to all attendees and expressed gratitude to the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) for their support in organizing the event. He emphasized the significance of the meeting in tackling challenges faced by youth in the region and the importance of collaboration in finding solutions.

Nacuva highlighted Fiji’s rich cultural diversity and the renowned hospitality of its people. He encouraged participants to fully enjoy their time in Fiji and engage in meaningful discussions that would benefit the youth in the region.

Additionally, he thanked the senior Pacific government officials for their participation and expressed hopes for productive conversations and positive outcomes from the forum.

The meeting will include Permanent Secretaries and CEOs from the South Pacific, the PYC Chairperson, senior officials, government representatives, and youth representatives.
