Fiji Hosts APPU Pacific Conference to Drive Digital Transformation in Regional Postal Services

Post Fiji Pte Limited proudly inaugurated the first Asia Pacific Postal Union (APPU) Pacific Conference today at the Novotel Hotel in Nadi, bringing together ministers, CEOs of postal services, and senior government officials from the Pacific region. The conference, which will run from November 3rd to 5th, aims to foster regional collaboration in addressing the unique challenges facing the Pacific postal sector.

Launched by the Permanent Secretary for Justice, Ms. Selina Kuruleca, this significant event focuses on themes such as vision, policy, regional cooperation, operational excellence, and sector solutions. Participants will engage in discussions aimed at promoting dialogue, driving digital transformation, and ensuring sustainable postal development. A dedicated session will feature international and private-sector partners, exploring practical strategies to support the growth and innovation of postal services across the Pacific.

Post Fiji’s CEO, Mr. Isaac Mow, emphasized the strategic importance of the conference, underscoring Fiji’s leadership within the regional postal community. He stated that this platform provides an opportunity for Pacific nations to share insights, strengthen partnerships, and shape a more sustainable postal future. “We aim to harness digital tools, enhance financial inclusion, and leverage e-commerce for the benefit of all Pacific islanders,” Mr. Mow said.

Mow also highlighted that hosting such prestigious events aligns with Post Fiji’s mission of operational transformation and sustainable growth. The leadership of Post Fiji has recently received recognition on the global stage, having been elected to the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Council of Administration at the 28th UPU Congress in Dubai. This election strengthens Fiji’s representation in addressing vital issues affecting Small Island Developing States (SIDS) within the international postal sphere.

The APPU Pacific Conference signifies an exciting chapter in the evolution of postal services in the region, promising advancements that not only address current challenges but also foster a collaborative and innovative spirit among Pacific island nations. With an emphasis on digital transformation and sustainability, the future of postal services in the Pacific looks hopeful and promising as the community seeks to adapt and thrive in an evolving landscape marked by technological change.
