Fiji’s President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has presented the 50th Anniversary medal to Ambassador Filipo Tarakinikini, Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, and Colonel Siliva Raradoka Vananalagi, Military and Police Advisor to PRUN.
This medal is awarded to recognize and honor both citizens and non-citizens for their contributions to Fiji’s development and to humanity over the past 50 years. It emphasizes the President’s philosophy of promoting a culture of appreciation and inclusivity.
Ambassador Tarakinikini has had a distinguished career, including serving as the chief of the Middle East and North Africa section at the UN Department of Safety and Security in New York. Colonel Vananalagi brings 35 years of service in various roles, such as administrator, trainer, planner, financial controller, logistician, and leader at various command levels both locally and internationally.
