Fiji Honors Selfless Service with Special National Awards Ceremony

During a Special Investiture ceremony at the State House, Fiji’s President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere commended the selflessness and dedication of award recipients. He acknowledged their significant impact on communities, professional sectors, and the nation, highlighting the importance of recognition for their contributions.

The Order of Fiji, established in 1995, honors exceptional achievements and service by Fijian citizens and occasionally by non-citizens. It includes awards for both the General Division and the Disciplined Services. The Civil Service Medal recognizes outstanding dedication and significant accomplishments among civil servants.

In his address, Ratu Wiliame emphasized that the awards serve as motivation for recipients to inspire others and effect positive change. He urged them to foster a culture of appreciation in their respective circles and acknowledged those awardees unable to attend due to work or distance.

The ceremony celebrated recipients from three categories: the Order of Fiji, the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Medal, and the Civil Service Medal.
