Fiji Honors Leaders with 50th Anniversary Medal

Fiji’s President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere has presented the 50th Anniversary medal to Fiji’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Filipo Tarakinikini, and Fiji’s Military and Police Advisor to PRUN, Colonel Siliva Raradoka Vananalagi.

This medal is awarded to recognize and honor both citizens and non-citizens for their contributions to Fiji’s development and to humanity over the past 50 years. It reflects His Excellency’s commitment to promoting a culture of appreciation and inclusivity.

Ambassador Tarakinikini has a distinguished record, having served as the chief of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) section at the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) at the UN headquarters in New York.

Colonel Vananalagi has an extensive background, completing 35 years of service in various roles including administrator, trainer, planner, financial controller, logistician, and leadership positions at multiple command levels both locally and internationally.
