Weather Bulletin
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 12:29pm on Sunday, November 16th, 2025
Attention, fellow islanders! A heavy rain warning is now officially in effect for Yasawa, the eastern half of Viti Levu (that’s Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra), the Northern Division, Lau, the Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and even some of our smaller, cozy islands. So if you’re in these areas, grab your umbrellas; you might need them more than your morning cup of tea!
We have a stubborn trough of low pressure just hanging around like an uninvited guest, bringing along clouds, showers, and rain that just can’t seem to make up its mind when to leave. Expect these showers to play a game of hide-and-seek over the next day and into tomorrow.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Get ready for occasional to periodic bouts of rain – some could be pretty heavy, and you might even hear some thunder clapping, reminding you it’s not just your neighbor’s loud music. Yasawa and the eastern part of Viti Levu will be getting especially well-watered, while the Northern Division, Lau, Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and our lovely smaller islands will also be in on the action. The good news? The rain will eventually ease up to showers by tomorrow. Just remember to splish-splash away from low-lying and flood-prone areas—don’t want to turn your afternoon walk into an aquatic adventure!
Partly cloudy skies may grace us elsewhere, with afternoon or evening showers and a few random thunderstorms. Yes, the weather is still trying to hold onto its dramatic flair. Expect those moderate to fresh northeast to southeast winds to keep things interesting on the seas as well.
Looking ahead to Tuesday: Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to be the main acts over the eastern half of Viti Levu and select areas in Vanua Levu. But don’t fret too much; other places may just see fine weather disrupted by a splash of afternoon shower drama.
Specific Forecasts:
– For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect intermittent showers, a dash of thunder, and temperatures between a comfortable 22°C and a peak of around 28°C tomorrow.
– For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Keep your raincoat handy with highs around 31°C and the usual afternoon antics including showers and thunderstorms.
– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Don’t forget those umbrellas! You’ll experience similar weather dance routines with highs approaching 32°C.
– Rakiraki/Tavua: Rain might be a frequent visitor, with highs around 31°C, so consider investing in a good raincoat!
– Yasawa/Mamanuca: A high of 29°C is expected, so keep your rain boots ready, and maybe a rubber ducky for good measure.
– And as for beautiful Rotuma: Southerly winds might bring some unpredictability with occasional rain and highs hitting around 30°C. Seas will be moderate, perfect for contemplating life’s biggest questions—or just floating around.
Enjoy the weather, make the best of it, and remember: If life gives you rain, grab a boat!
