Fiji Heavy Rain Warning in Effect for Yasawa, Eastern Viti Levu, Northern Division, Lau, Lomaiviti and Kadavu and Nearby Islands

Weather Update

Brought to you directly from the crystal ball at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, we’re here to keep you on your toes! Right now, it’s looking rather soggy across Fiji as a lazy trough of low pressure is hanging around, making itself quite comfortable with clouds, showers, and plenty of raindrops.

For those in Yasawa, the eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, that means you, Serua-Namosi and company), the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti, and Kadavu: it’s time to meet your umbrella friend. The rain is set for a long visit with heavy downpours and occasional thunderstorms to spice things up. Just when you thought you could put your wellington boots away – surprise! The rain is expected to ease to mere showers tomorrow. But do keep an eye on those low-lying spots; we wouldn’t want you paddleboarding in your own backyard.

As for the rest of you sunshine seekers, expect the sky to play a game of peek-a-boo with clouds and some sporadic showers, particularly in the afternoons or evenings. Just when you think you’re in the clear, a cheeky thunderstorm might pop up to say hello.

What’s in store for Tuesday, you ask? More of the same! Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecasted for the eastern half of Viti Levu and surrounding areas. So don’t pack your raincoat just yet!

Quick city specifics:
– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Pack for some rain spells today, with highs around 27°C and a steamy max of 28°C tomorrow.
– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: A mix of clouds, afternoon showers, and a high today hitting a warm 29°C, with tomorrow’s max reaching 31°C.
– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Expect some jovial showers peppering the afternoons, with highs of 31°C.
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Raindrops are still on the agenda, with today peaking at 29°C.
– Yasawa/Mamanuca: Rain today, but you might just find some sunshine peeking out tomorrow.

In short, keep those ponchos handy, stay safe from puddles, and don’t forget your snacks, because while the weather may be gloomy, we can always brighten up with a good meal. Stay dry, folks!
