Fiji Heavy Rain Warning for Eastern Viti Levu, Yasawa, Northern Division, Lau and Kadavu with Thunderstorms and Localised Flood Risk

Weather Update: Hold onto your umbrellas, folks!

This is your official weather gossip coming straight from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi. At 3:30 PM on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, we’re here to sprinkle some humor along with our forecast!

Brace yourselves, Viti Levu! A heavy rain warning is still hanging around like that one relative who overstays their welcome during the holidays. We’re talking about the eastern half of the island getting drenched – from Serua-Namosi all the way through to Tailevu, plus Yasawa, the Northern Division, Lau, Lomaiviti Groups, Kadavu, and their smaller neighbors. If you’re looking for sunshine, you might be playing hide-and-seek for a while!

We’ve got a trough of low pressure working its magic with clouds, showers, and rain. The wind’s blowing in from the east, which means it’s probably bringing some gossip along with it.

Forecast till midnight tomorrow: Expect periods of rain that may have you wondering if you should invest in a kayak. Heavy bursts and a sprinkle of thunder will be hanging out over the eastern regions. But don’t worry, the rain will ease into showers by tomorrow, allowing you some time to dry off—eventually!

In other parts, fine weather is trying its best, sneaking in some afternoon or evening showers and maybe a thunderstorm. Keep your guard up; those localized heavy falls might give you a surprise splash or two!

Now, what do we predict for Monday? If you’re in Serua-Namosi, Navua, and the gang, get ready for cloudy periods with a few showers. Rainy enthusiasm is in the air! For everyone else, expect fine weather but maybe pack your raincoat just in case those sneaky showers come back for a visit.

Here’s what’s happening in your neck of the woods:

For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Occasional rain and some thunder – sounds like a dramatic weather affair! Tomorrow’s temperature: Min: 23, Max: 29. And for Monday: Cloudy with more chances of showers. Cup of cocoa anyone?

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: A bit of sunshine but don’t let your guard down—afternoon showers might crash the party. Temperature tomorrow: Min: 21, Max: 29.

For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Keeping things fine and dandy with a chance of surprise showers later. Tomorrow: Min: 20, Max: 32. Good luck deciding what to wear!

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Occasional heavy rain, so grab your umbrella! Tomorrow’s forecast: Min: 23, Max: 30.

For the Yasawa/Mamanuca group: A little heavy rain, just to keep things interesting. Tomorrow: Min: 22, Max: 30.

For Taveuni: More rain – like it’s trying to win an award for “Most Enthusiastic Rainfall.” Tomorrow: Min: 23, Max: 29.

For the beautiful Lau and Lomaiviti group and Kadavu: Expect rain. Lots of it! Tomorrow: Min: 23, Max: 29, so keep that umbrella handy!

And for Rotuma: Showers with some thunder; it’s like the weather wanted to throw in a little drama! Tomorrow: Min: 23, Max: 29.

And there you have it! Whether rain or shine, we’re wishing you a fabulous weather weekend, complete with all the elements of surprise. Stay dry, and remember: every rain cloud has a silver lining… usually it’s just a cozy spot to curl up indoors!
