Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi
At the bright and early hour of 5:30 AM on Tuesday, March 3, 2026
Attention all Fijians! Grab your umbrellas and rubber duckies because we have a HEAVY RAIN WARNING in effect for the entire Fiji Group. Sounds like Mother Nature is in a moody streak! If you need more info without the drama, check out the Special Weather Bulletin for Heavy Rain.
Also, don’t forget your life jackets, as a FLASH FLOOD WARNING is soaking up the whole of Viti Levu! If you live near the Nakauvadra River (hello, Rakiraki Town!), Yaqara River, Tavua River, or the flood-prone Ba River areas, keep your eyes peeled for rising waters. And yes, if you live near Nadi River or any tributaries in Nadroga—consider yourself alerted!
We have an active trough of low pressure throwing a cloud party over the region, ensuring plenty of showers and rain until Wednesday. Think of it as a sky sprinkler system, but less fun at the park!
Today’s weather forecast until midnight looks like this: a chance of rain (more of a certainty, really) with varying intensity, and perhaps a thunderstorm to give you that dramatic flair. But listen closely—rain may start easing up later today! Remember to steer clear of Mojo’s “Heavy Rain” dance move.
For those looking for wind info, expect moderate northwesterly breezes that might pick up their gustiness from time to time. Seas will be moderate to rough, so it’s a great day to practice your surfing skills or just sit back and watch the waves.
As for Wednesday’s outlook, keep that umbrella handy! Occasional showers with the possibility of some isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms, especially for Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. With heavy falls likely to cause a splash—quite literally—over low-lying areas.
Now, let’s dive into the regions!
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Rain until later, making your indoor activities feel ever so good. Min: 25, Max: 30.
Wednesday’s forecast: Keep that umbrella dry! Showers and afternoon thunderstorms could make an appearance. Min: 24, Max: 31.
For Natadradave/Korovou, Sigatoka/Coral Coast, Nadi/Lautoka/Ba, Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca Group, Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni, Lau and Lomaiviti Group, and Kadavu: you’re in the same soggy boat! Expect occasional rain and possible thunderstorms with your daily highs floating about 30 degrees. Nothing like a good freshening shower!
For Rotuma: Mother Nature has turned on the tap with a HEAVY RAIN ALERT still in full effect for land and waters. Gather up those raincoats and put on your best sunshine faces because the forecast is calling for a splash zone today with intermittent rain and a chance of isolated thunderstorms. Max: 30.
Remember, Mother Nature doesn’t take days off! So, pack those umbrellas, don your best rain boots, and let’s navigate through this wet and wild weather together!
