Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A HEAVY RAIN alert is still active for Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and those tiny islands nearby—yes, Lau and Lomaiviti, we see you too!
What’s brewing, you ask? A mischievous trough of low pressure is hanging around, bringing along clouds and rain that will be making its way across the country through Sunday. It’s like an uninvited guest that just won’t leave!
Tonight’s forecast for the Fiji group: Prepare for occasional rain and the possibility of a few thunderstorms throwing their weight around, especially over Vanua Levu and Taveuni. You might even experience some isolated heavy falls that will have your rain gauge saying, “Whoa there!” Meanwhile, places like Sigatoka-Korolevu and Navua will get showers that could range from merely annoying to head-scratching heavy.
Elsewhere, it will be mainly fine… until the afternoon, when you might find some showers or thunderstorms sneaking in. And remember, those pesky afternoon storms can lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so be alert!
Let’s take a peek into the specific forecasts, shall we?
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Expect some rain showers tonight that might have you wondering if your umbrella is in your bag. Min: 24, Max: 33. Tomorrow? More rain and a chance of thunderstorms. Min: 24, Max: 30.

For Labasa and Savusavu: Get ready for occasional rain and a few thunderstorms to keep things spicy. Min: 24, Max: 29. Tomorrow? More of the same for you both. Min: 23, Max: 30.
And for those on Rotuma: That heavy rain alert is extra serious here! Expect periods of rain, some on the heavier side, and maybe a thunderstorm that really wants your attention. Min: 24, Max: 28, and it looks like Friday won’t let up either.
So, whether you’re dashing for cover or embracing the drizzle, it’s a classic weather rollercoaster here in Fiji. Stay dry—or wet, if that’s your style—and have a great day!
