Weather Update
Issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi, Friday, December 5, 2025, at 3:30 PM
Hold on to your umbrellas, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is now waving its arms enthusiastically for the southern and eastern sides of Viti Levu, as well as our friends in Kadavu and those charming little islands in Lau and Lomaiviti. If you were planning on a sunbathing session, you might want to reconsider.
What’s happening, you ask? Well, it looks like an east to southeast wind has taken a liking to the area, while a rather dramatic trough of low pressure is meandering up from the south, bringing along some robust cloud cover and showers. Expect things to get soggy later tonight!
Forecast until midnight tomorrow for our beautiful Fiji group:
Today: Expect cloudy periods with brief showers trying to entertain you over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Kadavu, the charming smaller islands nearby, the southern tip of Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and those delightful little isles in Lau and Lomaiviti. Showers will start to become a shower party tonight, especially in the southern and eastern regions. Elsewhere, you’ll find sunny spells, but don’t get too comfy, as isolated afternoon or evening showers might crash the party. Oh, and we might even have a few thunderstorms throwing in their two cents over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Light to moderate winds will keep you company, but those seas? They’re moderate to rough, so maybe avoid taking your inflatable flamingo for a spin!
Tomorrow: Get ready for occasional showers as they continue to sprinkle the southern and eastern parts. Partly cloudy conditions will reign elsewhere, with a few afternoon or evening showers possibly crashing in like an unexpected guest. Isolated thunderstorms are still hanging around, eager to join the fun. Winds will remain moderate, with seas still in the moderate to rough department.
Looking ahead to Sunday: Expect ongoing drama with occasional rain, a sprinkle of heavy falls, and some thunderstorms over most areas. Winds will shift to a moderate easterly-northeasterly vibe.
