Attention all weather enthusiasts and aspiring puddle jumpers: A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is in effect for the entire Fiji group. Yes, folks, grab your umbrellas, not just to keep dry, but to start your own “rain dance” as we welcome the wet weather! What’s the story in the sky? A pesky trough of low pressure has decided to crash the party, bringing along its buddies—cloud and rain.

Here’s the forecast stretching to midnight tomorrow for our lovely islands:

Today: Expect occasional rain that will love to drop in heavily from time to time, with some thunderstorms crashing the mood over areas from Sigatoka to Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, Ra, Kadavu and its smaller pals, Taveuni and friends, as well as Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Southern Bua and Cakaudrove might see some cloudy periods and a sprinkle of showers. For everyone else, expect some part-cloudiness and afternoon or evening showers, with a side of thunderstorm action.

Tomorrow: The rain remains in attendance, still heavy at times, so you might want to start calling your friends over for a rainy movie marathon while listening to the delightful soundtrack of raindrops. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds will keep things interesting, changing to northerly and southeasterly by tomorrow. Sea levels will be moderate to rough, so save those diving adventures for a drier day.

Looking ahead to Monday: The rain will stick around, offering isolated heavy falls and thunderstorms in most places. It seems the clouds have scheduled a long stayover! Moderate northerly winds will accompany the wet weather, with seas keeping it moderate.

Now, let’s dive into the specific areas:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Rain, rain, and more rain, with a dash of thunderstorms. Tomorrow will see a min of 23°C and a max of 28°C. Outlook for Monday: Rain tapering off to mere showers (min 23°C, max 30°C).

For Natadradave/Korovou: Same story—occasional rain with some thunder action. Tomorrow’s plans: Enjoy temps between 23°C and 28°C. Monday brings showers with a min of 23°C and a max of 30°C.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: You guessed it—occasional heavy rain and some thunder. Expect tomorrow’s temps to be 23°C to 28°C. Monday will bring lighter showers (min 23°C, max 30°C).

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Partly cloudy today, but don’t get too cozy—the rain and thunderstorms are expected to join tomorrow! The temps will be 23°C to a slightly toastier 31°C. Outlook for Monday: Showers capped at a max of 32°C.

For Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca, Labasa, and all similar regions: You’ll be riding the rain wave as it hits with thunderstorms. Expect a cozy 23°C to 31°C tomorrow, with a slight lift to 32°C on Monday.

For Savusavu and Nabouwalu: A party of clouds with some rain showers crashing in. Tomorrow will bring a mix of 23°C to 29°C. Expect the same for Monday.

For Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups: It’s the heavy rain show again, bringing a cool 23°C to 28°C for tomorrow, with Monday easing off to showers (min 23°C, max 30°C).

Finally, for Rotuma: The southeasterly wind keeps things breezy and fine whie you enjoy mild conditions—tomorrow is looking at 24°C to a sunny 32°C. Monday will greet you with clouds and some showers (min 25°C, max 31°C).
