Hold on to your umbrellas folks—a heavy rain alert is still in play! We’re looking at a soggy situation for Yasawa, the eastern half of Viti Levu (including the already soggy Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra), the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and those cute little nearby islands that sometimes feel left out.

Why is it so dreary, you ask? Well, a slow-moving trough of low pressure has decided to throw a little party over Fiji, and it seems it’s brought along its cloud and raindrop friends, set to affect parts of the grouping until tomorrow.

Forecast until midnight tonight for the Fiji group:
Expect occasional rain, heavy enough to fill a kiddie pool at times, and a few thunderstorms trying to steal the spotlight over Yasawa and the eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, we see you Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra). The Northern Division, Lau, the Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and those shyer smaller islands also get in on the wet fun. Just a heads-up, localized heavy rain could result in flash floods in low-lying and flood-prone areas, so don’t kayak to work just yet!

For those hoping for a sunny afternoon, you might need to adjust your expectations—partly cloudy skies will be interrupted by afternoon or evening showers and possibly some thunderstorms trying to make a dramatic entrance. Get ready for moderate to fresh east to southeast winds and seas that will be moderate to rough—perfect for a daring seagull, but maybe not so much for your average beachgoer.

Outlook for Monday:
The rains aren’t done partying yet! Occasional heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue for Yasawa and the eastern half of Viti Levu (it sounds like a broken record, doesn’t it?). But good news—a little later in the day the rain is expected to ease into more manageable showers.

Now, let’s break it down for specific areas:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori:
Rain will be your loyal companion with occasional storms trying to crash the party. Tomorrow’s temperatures will start at a minimum of 23 degrees and peak at a pleasant 28 degrees.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast:
The sun may pop out, but rain could light up the evening with showers and thunderstorms. Tomorrow, we’re looking at a minimum of 23 degrees and a maximum of 30 degrees.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba:
It seems that Mother Nature is planning to keep things lively with afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Expect tomorrow’s range to be 23 to 31 degrees.

For Tavua/Rakiraki:
A similar theme continues here—just afternoon or evening showers and storms interspersed with fine conditions. Temperatures tomorrow will sit between 23 and 31 degrees.

For Yasawa/Mamanuca:
Get ready for some rain action with occasional heavy bursts. Average tomorrow will range from 23 to 30 degrees.

For Rotuma:
Things will be a bit calmer with cloudy periods and brief showers today, but don’t get too comfortable—showers and thunderstorms are looking to join the fun tomorrow. Expect tomorrow’s temps of 25 to 31 degrees.

So, there you have it: a weather forecast that’s not short on water! Stay dry, stay safe, and maybe brush up on those indoor activities while Mother Nature takes center stage!
