Weather Whirlwind
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre, Nadi, and beaming from your favorite weather crystal ball at 5:30 AM on Tuesday, November 4th, 2025.
Buckle up, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is in effect for the eastern half of Viti Levu, which means it’s time to grab your raincoat (and maybe a boat)! This includes Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, the Yasawa Group, the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti Groups, Kadavu, and a few tiny islands looking for some adventure!
Here’s the scoop: A trough of low pressure is lounging over the eastern parts of the country, like a lazy cat on a sunny windowsill, and it’s bringing along its entourage of clouds, showers, and more rain than a water park!
What’s in store until midnight tonight for our fabulous Fiji group? Expect some occasional rain—don’t forget the “occasionally” includes heavy downpours and the occasional lightning show courtesy of Mother Nature! The fun picks up in the afternoons and evenings, particularly in Serua-Namosi, Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra, Yasawa Group, and the Northern Division. Just a heads-up: localized heavy falls may turn the low-lying areas into our own mini version of the Grand Canyon, so keep your rubber duckies at the ready!
If you’re planning a beach day, steer clear. Moderate to fresh easterly winds are blowing in, and seas might be a tad rough; not exactly a recipe for smooth sailing!
Now, the sneak peek for Wednesday: Rain and some isolated thunderstorms will keep rolling in over the same regions, but as the day progresses, the rain might decide to tone it down a bit, switching to showers. Just remember: isolated heavy falls could still come out to play. Winds will remain moderately fresh, so hold on to your hats!
