Weather Alert!

As of 3:30 PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Fiji group is under heavy rain alert. So grab your umbrellas and maybe a kayak for good measure!

What’s happening? Well, we have a lazy trough of low pressure just hanging around like a couch potato, bringing along its cloud buddies and some rain. It’s decided to make things a bit damp for the entire Fiji group.

Here’s the forecast through midnight tomorrow: Expect some occasional rain that may come down like a waterfall at times, especially with a few thunderstorms trying to steal the spotlight in places like the Northern Division and parts of Viti Levu (Momi, Nadi, Ba, Ra), and also in the Yasawa and Mamanuca islands.

Everywhere else? More on the soggy side as well, with occasional rain and the odd clap of thunder. Be wary of those sneaky heavy falls, as they might lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas. And for those who love wind, moderate east to northerly breezes are in the mix—perfect for a windblown look!

Ah, and the seas? They’re looking moderate to rough, which is just fancy talk for: Best not to take your inflatable flamingo out today.

Looking ahead to Saturday: Expect more of the same—occasional rain and a few more thunderstorms gracing most areas. And yes, heavy falls could lead to the notorious flash flooding. Winds are still on the moderate side.

Now, let’s break it down for your specific locations:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Rain, with isolated thunderstorms throwing in a surprise or two. Today’s max is 29, and tomorrow will bring a min of 23 and a max of 29.

In Natadradave/Korovou: Get ready for rain that occasionally puts on a heavy show, with thunder for entertainment. Same temperature schedule: max 29 today, and tomorrow’s looking at 23 minimum and 29 maximum.

Sigatoka/Coral Coast: You’ve got rain and those feisty thunderstorms as well. Maxed out at 30 today, tomorrow will start at 23 and still reach 30 in the afternoon.

Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Expect some rain that could be heavy at times, sandwiched between some thunderstorms. Today’s comfort level peaks at 30, and tomorrow will be another match of 23-30.

For Tavua/Rakiraki: Rain is the name of the game with some thunder and a max of 30 today, and a cozy range of 23 to 30 tomorrow.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Rain and thunder are also on the menu, with a steady 30 degrees today, and preparing for the same tomorrow.

Labasa: Don’t you worry; it’s rain and thunder galore! You’ll have a solid max of 30 today, and a sporty range of 23 to 30 tomorrow.

Savusavu, Nabouwalu, Taveuni, and the Lau and Lomaiviti group: You guessed it! Rain—heavy at times and with the occasional thunderclap. Everyone is sticking to the 30-degree theme today, with slight variations for tomorrow.

And for our friends in Kadavu: Expect rain and a hint of thunder to keep things lively. Today’s max is 30, while tomorrow’s show is 23 and 29.

Oh, and Rotuma, you’re a bit different with a northeastern wind flow in charge! Expect some heavy showers and those thunderstorm guests popping by. Your max is 30 today, with a comfy 25 minimum for tomorrow.

Stay dry, or at least slightly damp, and embrace the rainy season!
