Weather Alert: The Cloudy Chronicles – Episode Rain!

Hello, sunshine lovers! Which is a misnomer for today, as it seems the clouds have decided to throw a party. We’re under a heavy rain alert for our friends in the Northern Division, Eastern Viti Levu, Yasawa, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. Yes, folks, it’s officially time to grab your favorite raincoat – or perhaps just a giant umbrella if you’d prefer to channel your inner Mary Poppins!

What’s happening, you ask? This suspiciously moody trough of low pressure is hovering above the northeastern parts of Fiji, bringing with it a not-so-subtle wave of clouds, showers, and dousing rain. And guess what? This soggy saga is set to continue for the next few days. So whether you were planning a beach day or a picnic, it may just be more of a splishy-splashy experience.

Forecast until midnight tonight? Expect occasional rain, with heavier bursts and a few thunderstorms sprinkling over the Northern Division, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Yasawa, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups. Other areas can expect occasional rain and perhaps testing their thunderstorm tolerance. Caution: isolated heavy falls might pop up to surprise you!

Don’t forget, these persistent heavy showers may cause flash floods in low-lying areas, so hang onto your hats—and maybe a paddleboard or two. Moderate east to northeasterly winds will be blowing at fresh times, and we’ve got to warn you – the seas are getting moderate to rough. Channel your inner sea captain, and make sure you’re prepared!

Now let’s peek into the Friday crystal ball: we’re still looking at occasional rain with thunderstorms looming over most areas. The weather gods are definitely keeping it interesting, and flash flooding remains a possibility.

Below are your local weather highlights:
