Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is sounding the alarm for our friends in the Northern Division, Yasawa, and the Mamanuca groups as well as the Tavua to Rakiraki areas. If you’re in these zones, consider a new career as a duck—seriously, you might need those webbed feet soon!
Here’s the lowdown: A pesky trough of low pressure is making itself comfy with clouds and rain in the northern part of Fiji while the moist north to northwest winds are blowing like a cheeky child blowing dandelion seeds.
So, what’s in store for today, you ask? Expect a delightful mix of occasional rain—heavy at times and possibly with a few dramatic thunderstorms that might have you feeling like you’re in a big-budget movie. Locations like Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Yasawa, and Mamanuca will experience no shortage of sogginess. For those who prefer their weather a bit milder, you’ll find fine weather across Sigatoka-Nadi-Lautoka-Ba and other spots—just watch out for a few surprise showers, of course!
And speaking of surprises, isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls are likely over most areas. Grab those flotation devices, as localised heavy rainfall could lead to flash floods in low-lying areas and even small rivers and streams—so perhaps ditch the flip-flops if you plan on traversing those!
Outlook for Monday: According to our weather crystal ball, expect cloudy periods and a sprinkling of showers over Sigatoka, Nadi, Lautoka, and surrounding areas. Fine weather will still manage to sneak in! Those looking for beach time might want to consider the afternoon or evening showers as their cue to pack up early.
For specific regions, here’s what to expect:
Navua / Suva / Nausori: Enjoy a sprinkle of fine weather but get ready for possible afternoon showers with isolated thunderstorms—sounds thrilling, doesn’t it? Min: 24, Max: 31.

So there you have it! Dress in layers, keep that umbrella handy, and remember, every drop of rain is another chance to make a splash!
