Fiji Heavy Rain Alert for Eastern Viti Levu and Nearby Islands with Strong Southeast Winds Up to 45 km/h

Weather Update:
Brought to you fresh from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at the bright and cheery time of 5:30 AM on November 21, 2025.

Hold on to your umbrellas, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is in effect, especially for the eastern half of Viti Levu, from the whimsical winds of Serua-Namosi all the way to the dramatically named Naitasiri. Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and some cheeky smaller islands are also getting in on the rain game. Even Lau and Lomaiviti groups, plus our friends in Kadavu and its petite pals, are bracing themselves for a waterworks show.

But wait, there’s more! A STRONG WIND WARNING is charging through the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and Taveuni. So, if you’ve ever dreamed of a day where your hat might take off on its own, today could be that day!

What’s the deal with today’s forecast? Think of it as nature’s soap opera: plenty of clouds and some exciting showers with a chance of heavy downpours starring Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and the gang in Southern Bua and Cakaudrove. Flash flooding is on the list of possible plot twists for low-lying areas—keep your floaties handy!

For the remainder of the Fiji group, fine weather should prevail, unless you plan your picnic for the afternoon when showers and thunderstorms will rain on your parade—literally!

The winds decide to join the fun too—expect moderate to fresh southeasterly breezes, but they could really rush in with gusts up to 45 km/hr in Lau and Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and Taveuni. Just remember—seas may be moderate to rough, so maybe leave the sailing for another day!

As for tomorrow? More of the same drama but intensified in the rain and thunder department. Get ready for our superstar rain once again taking center stage over the eastern parts, and don’t forget about those cheeky thunderstorms!

Here’s the rundown for your area:

Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy with some occasional showers and a few heavy ones. Min: 23, Max: 30.
Saturday’s Preview: More rain, possibly heavy at times. Min: 23, Max: 29.

Sigatoka / Coral Coast: A fine day, except for some afternoon or evening showers—nature’s way of keeping you on your toes! Min: 23, Max: 30.
Saturday: A little cloudier with showers and lightning on the horizon. Min: 22, Max: 30.

Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: A fine day awaits, sprinkled with evening showers. Min: 23, Max: 32.
Saturday: Expect a partly cloudy arrangement with showers and possibly some thunder. Min: 23, Max: 31.

Tavua / Rakiraki: Cloudy with some legitimate showers. The rain gods have chosen Rakiraki for fancier, heavier showers. Min: 23, Max: 32.
Saturday: Sounds like more of the same with the afternoon joining in on the thunderous fun! Min: 23, Max: 31.

Other locations like Yasawa, Labasa, Savusavu, and even Nabouwalu will also see their share of clouds, showers, and possible thunderstorms as we move into the weekend.

It seems Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti are in for a particularly breezy rollercoaster with strong winds and storms on the Monday agenda.

Remember to wear your best raincoat and hold onto those hats, because this weather party is just getting started!
