Hold onto your hats, folks! A HEAVY RAIN ALERT is in effect for Yasawa, the eastern half of Viti Levu (yes, that includes Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra), the Northern Division, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and those pesky nearby islands.
Why the fuss? A trough of low pressure is lounging over the eastern parts of the islands, and it’s getting ready to strengthen overnight. So expect a buffeting of clouds, showers, and some rain to keep our gorgeous landscapes lush (and your laundry damp) until Monday.
Here’s the scoop for the weekend:
**Tonight’s forecast:**
Occasional showers (think of them as nature’s way of watering the plants) and a sprinkle of isolated thunderstorms over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, and other places like Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, and our lovely Kadavu. Isolated heavy falls might just take the spotlight, so prepare for a great show!
**Tomorrow’s forecast:**
Nothing like some good old rain to rev up the excitement! Expect occasional downpours, heavy at times (with a side of thunderclaps) over Yasawa, the eastern half of Viti Levu, Northern Division, Lau, and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and friends. It could get so intense that some areas might experience flash floods—so keep your boots handy and watch your step!
Elsewhere, it’ll be partly cloudy with a chance of those pesky afternoon or evening showers and thunder. Not to forget: moderate to fresh southeast winds will be blowing, teasing those sailboats in the gentle breeze—moderate to rough seas expected, so maybe skip the wild waves!
**Monday Outlook:**
Grab your umbrellas again! Rain will continue to tease us with occasional heavy falls and a few thunderous guests crashing the afternoon party. But fear not, the rain will ease up to showers as the day rolls on.
Now onto specifics for your town!
