The Reserve Bank of Fiji (RBF) has officially awarded an Insurance Broker license to Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) Pte Limited, following the company’s successful completion of all regulatory requirements in accordance with section 43 of the Insurance Act 1998.
Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) Pte Limited, which is a subsidiary of Howden Pacific Holdings Pty Ltd and part of the global Howden Group Holdings Ltd, is set to commence its formal operations in January 2026. This new venture is anticipated to significantly enrich the insurance intermediary landscape in Fiji by providing specialized expertise and tailored risk management solutions to clients throughout the country.
The RBF has noted that the entry of Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji) is expected to enhance the quality and variety of insurance advisory and placement services available in the local market. The central bank has expressed its support for the establishment of the company and looks forward to fostering a constructive working relationship with its management as they begin operations.
With the launch of Howden Insurance Brokers (Fiji), the total number of licensed insurance brokers in Fiji will rise to six, marking a positive advancement in the growth and diversification of the domestic financial services sector. This development signifies a promising future for the industry, offering consumers greater choice and improved services in insurance brokerage.
