The upcoming 2026 Golf Fiji Pro Am is generating excitement as discussions regarding major sponsorship from Paradise Beverages gain momentum following a successful 2025 tournament held at Denarau. Mike Spencer, the General Manager of Paradise Beverages, confirmed that plans are underway to enhance the event’s profile, with a vision to make it “bigger and better.”

Emphasizing the long-standing relationship between Paradise Beverages and golf in Fiji, Spencer noted that the brand’s involvement dates back over 55 years, specifically to the Fiji Bitter Fiji Open, which originally attracted professional golfers from Australia and New Zealand. Despite intermittent sponsorship years, Paradise Beverages is currently exploring strategies for a broader investment in golf within Fiji.

The 2026 Pro Am is scheduled for May, positioned as a key annual sports event with the potential to draw regional professionals, thereby bolstering tourism and sports engagement on Denarau Island. Stakeholders are optimistic that this tournament will not only spotlight local talent but also promote Fiji as a vibrant golfing destination.

Events like the Pro Am contribute significantly to the region’s golfing landscape, reflecting a hopeful outlook for the sport. As the excitement builds for the 2026 tournament, additional announcements related to sponsorship details and event enhancements are anticipated soon.

Notably, the 2025 tournament saw Shakeel Pillay and Vikrant Chandra secure top positions, hinting at an increasingly competitive field as the event evolves. With a strong foundation and potential for growth, the future looks bright for golf in Fiji, encouraging participation from aspiring golfers throughout the region.
