Shakil Pillay emerged victorious at the 2025 Girmit Open Golf Championship held at the Fiji Golf Club over the weekend. His triumph solidifies his position as a top competitor in the golfing community, following his earlier success in the 54th RC Manubhai Ba Open where he also claimed the gross title.
In terms of overall performance at the Girmit Open, Kelepi Tuikala secured the overall nett winner title, showcasing skill alongside Pillay’s impressive showing. In the A Grade Nett category, David Qiolevu achieved first place with a score of 140, closely followed by Shailen Prasad and William Danford, who scored 145 and 146 respectively. The B Grade Nett saw Qoroniasi Bale dominate, finishing first with a score of 136, while Feizal Hanif and Mansoor Begg rounded out the top spots with scores of 144 and 147.
Bilitaki Lovo had a stellar performance in the C Grade Nett category, securing first place with a score of 135, and was followed by Ricky Prasad and Stuart Murray. In the Ladies Nett division, Natalia led with a score of 150, ahead of Sharon Smith and Kamini Singh. The Juniors Nett category featured Aaron Lal winning first place with an impressive score of 100.5.
