The 2024 Fiji Golf Open Championship is poised to offer an exciting weekend of competitive play, significant prizes, and delightful food options. Scheduled for October 10-12 at the Fiji Golf Club in Suva, the event features a $10,000 cash prize for professionals, along with an additional $10,000 in prizes for amateur participants, making it one of Fiji’s most rewarding golf tournaments this year.
Amitesh Chandra, president of Golf Fiji, noted the possibility of increasing the prize amounts, adding to the excitement for participants vying for victory. Daily light lunches will be provided for all players, accompanied by opening and closing cocktail events.
Golfers will be outfitted in tournament-sponsored polo shirts and issued sleeves of golf balls to ensure they are prepared for each round. Entry fees are set at $250 for the 54-hole stroke format, which is open to both male and female competitors, while the first 10 junior entrants can participate free of charge.
With only 120 spots available, the competition is expected to be intense. The championship, organized by Golf Fiji and endorsed by the World Amateur Golf Ranking, has already attracted interest from golfers and audiences. Major sponsors like Fiji Water, BSP, Coca-Cola, Tappoo, Crowne Plaza, Easy Par Golf, and Paradise Lightings are supporting the event, promising a premium experience for everyone involved.
