The Tumana Memorial Trophy held at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa witnessed participation from 83 golfers, including two juniors, demonstrating a vibrant community commitment to the sport. Jone Hui stood out by achieving the best score of the tournament, clinching the C Grade title with an impressive 40 points. He edged out George Nacewa, who finished with 38 points, and Niumaia Tabunakawai, who also scored 38 but placed third.
In the A Grade category, Gregory Brown secured the top position with a score of 38 points, closely followed by Opetaia Ravai and Danniel Abdulah, both finishing with 37 points. Meanwhile, in the B Grade, Tom Managreve emerged victorious with 38 points, leaving Frank Chan and Wilson Malani in second and third place with 36 and 35 points respectively.
The ladies’ division saw Natalie Evans taking the title with 38 points, with Kamini Singh and Zhane Ning placing second and third with scores of 34 and 32 points.
The tournament also featured Nearest to the Pin contests, won by Watisoni Leqeti on the second hole, Alex Konrote on the fifth, Dupito Sumamora on the twelfth, and William Parkinson on the sixteenth.
Supported generously by HAHIA Investments Pte Ltd and the families of Jitoko, Mavoa, and Naisara, the event underscored the community’s enthusiasm for promoting golf.
