Today, the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa is all set to host its monthly medal stroke event, with 90 participants anticipated, including a strong showing from youth competitors. Sponsored by Die Xin Construction Ltd, the event is scheduled to start at 8 AM and continue until 1 PM.

Sponsorship chairman Mohammed Buksh noted that the competition’s success is contingent on favorable weather conditions. He stated, “It really depends on the weather. If the weather is good, we will play; otherwise, we may have to postpone the competition.” Reflecting on a recent event, Buksh mentioned that the Fiji Cancer Society charity golf competition enjoyed perfect weather, demonstrating the unpredictable nature of outdoor sports.

The inclusion of young golfers is particularly encouraging, showcasing a dedication to nurturing future talent in the sport. Buksh expressed his enthusiasm for seeing the youth engaged in the competition, stating, “It’s great to see the youths being part of the competition, learning and growing the sport all the way.”

Gratitude was extended to Die Xin Construction Ltd for their instrumental support, enabling the event to take place and fostering participation from all involved.

This golf event not only promises excitement and competitive spirit but also emphasizes the importance of youth involvement in sports, ensuring a bright future for golf in Fiji.

Overall, such events are vital for community engagement, promoting healthy lifestyles, and ensuring the continuance of traditions in sports like golf.
