Fiji is set to welcome over 50 delegates from 22 member countries for the 47th Meeting of National Representatives of the Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) for Asia and the Pacific. The conference is scheduled to take place in Nadi from Tuesday, May 20, 2025, for four days.

The event is being jointly coordinated by the Ministries of Agriculture & Waterways and Foreign Affairs. It aims to enhance regional cooperation in nuclear science and technology for development while addressing shared challenges and bolstering the effectiveness and future impact of RCA projects throughout Asia and the Pacific.

Fiji’s role as a host demonstrates its growing influence in facilitating discussions on critical regional developments. This follows its recent selection to host significant meetings, including the World Health Organization’s 76th Regional Committee Meeting and the 9th Pacific Tuna Forum in 2025, which underscores its commitment to promoting collaboration on pressing global issues, from health to environmental sustainability.

The upcoming RCA meeting provides an opportunity for member countries to strengthen ties, exchange knowledge, and work collectively towards advancing nuclear technology applications that can benefit member states in various developmental sectors.

This gathering not only illustrates Fiji’s commitment to regional leadership but also presents an optimistic outlook for collaborative efforts that can yield transformative outcomes for the Pacific and beyond.
