Preparations for Fiji’s upcoming General Elections are intensifying as the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) recently provided an update to the Fiji Police Force’s top management. Anaseini Senimoli, the FEO’s Director of Operations, highlighted the critical need for inter-agency collaboration, recalling the successful partnership evident during the 2022 General Elections.

Senimoli assured that a comprehensive schedule is in place, with ongoing efforts to achieve the electoral office’s objectives, notably maintaining public trust in the electoral process. Continuous dialogue with law enforcement is a priority, especially regarding electoral legislation and potential reforms that aim to provide legal clarity before the elections.

Assistant Commissioner of Police for Planning, Research, and Doctrine, Aporosa Lutunauga, expressed appreciation to the FEO for keeping the police informed, acknowledging their indispensable role in ensuring credible and secure elections.

This emphasis on collaboration builds on previous discussions between the FEO and the Fiji Police Force regarding security measures for the 2026 elections, and reflects a commitment to preventing the technical issues experienced during the 2022 elections. The ongoing collaboration signals a proactive approach to enhance transparency and public trust in the electoral framework.

The FEO’s preparations extend to local government elections, demonstrating a broader initiative to boost civic engagement and representation within Fiji’s political landscape. Such efforts not only underline their commitment to logistical readiness but also signify a hopeful direction for bolstering confidence in Fiji’s electoral system, paving the way for a more credible and democratic process.
