Fiji is set to host the much-anticipated Homecoming Concert of local musician George ‘Fiji’ Veikoso next month, according to Tourism Fiji. The organization highlighted that with the increasing number of tourists visiting Fiji, investing in events featuring international artists could bolster the country’s global appeal.
A spokesperson for Tourism Fiji expressed enthusiasm for the concert, noting that it not only celebrates Veikoso’s talent but also showcases Fiji’s rich musical culture. While Tourism Fiji is not officially collaborating with the event organizers, they are promoting the concert actively.
Such events are regarded as significant contributors to the tourism sector, drawing in visitors and promoting local culture while benefiting local businesses. Veikoso recently revealed the concert’s details, expressing his honor in returning home to share his music, which he considers his life’s work. He emphasized that the concert would be more than just a musical performance; it represents a celebration of heritage, culture, and the universal connections fostered through music.
The concert is scheduled to feature performances by J Boog, Maoli, and Josh Tatofi at Prince Charles Park in Nadi on September 14 and 15.
