Fiji Gateway Hotel is set to enhance its facilities with the construction of a new two-storey accommodation building to meet the growing needs of travelers passing through Nadi. The expansion, which starts this month, is projected to be completed by October of next year.

The hotel plans to add 47 new guest rooms and suites, comprising 44 deluxe rooms and three two-bedroom suites, all boasting rural views and modern amenities. Lee Pearce, CEO of Raffe Hotels and Resorts, the hotel’s parent company, remarked that the new accommodations will further improve the hotel’s attractiveness to both leisure and business visitors.

“Fiji Gateway Hotel has consistently enjoyed high occupancy rates,” said Pearce. “Our prime location and tropical ambiance make us a favorite among travelers, especially those visiting our other properties, Plantation Island Resort and Lomani Island Resort located in the Mamanucas Islands. Thanks to Raffe Group’s dedication to Fijian tourism, we are thrilled to bring these new rooms to life by mid-spring 2025.”

The new structure will be strategically positioned on an unused part of the property to ensure minimal disruption to the hotel’s existing charm and guest experience. The hotel’s capacity will expand from 95 to 135 rooms, with plans to phase out some older accommodations as part of a modern update.

Following the completion of the new block, Pearce mentioned that the outdated rooms will be removed to make way for fresh landscaping and new pathways, which will provide seamless connectivity between the new rooms and the hotel’s main reception and dining areas.

He noted that Fiji has seen a significant increase in visitor numbers in recent years, a trend that is projected to continue into 2024, particularly during the peak months of June and July. This growth highlights Fiji’s lasting appeal as a premier travel destination, making the timing of the expansion at Fiji Gateway Hotel especially relevant.
