Fiji Futsal Coach Demands More Speed Ahead of Crucial Clash with New Zealand

Fiji Women’s Futsal coach Jerry Sam is calling for an increase in intensity from his team ahead of their match against New Zealand, particularly after their 4-0 victory over Tonga, which he viewed as lacking in energy.

Although the team achieved a solid win in their second match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, Sam expressed dissatisfaction with their performance, highlighting the need for greater speed and intensity to compete effectively against tougher opponents.

“We had a bit of a slow start with the mindset that whoever plays Tonga starts off very slow. This is something we don’t want to happen in the next game, and we have to consider that,” Sam commented.

During the match, his frustration was evident as he encouraged the players from the sidelines to elevate their efforts and generate more scoring chances. He believes the team possesses the talent to excel and is keen to see them perform to their fullest potential on the court.

Tomorrow’s match against New Zealand, set for 4 pm at the Friendship Hall in the Solomon Islands, carries greater significance, and the team is eager to rise to the challenge.
