Fiji Futsal Coach Calls for Intensity Ahead of Clash with New Zealand

Fiji Women’s Futsal coach Jerry Sam is calling on his team to increase their intensity for their upcoming match against New Zealand, after a 4-0 victory over Tonga that he deemed unsatisfactory.

Although the team achieved a solid win in their second match of the OFC Women’s Futsal Championship, Sam expressed concerns about their lack of pace and energy, which are crucial for competing with stronger teams.

“We had a bit of a slow start with the mindset that, you know, whoever plays Tonga starts off very slow. This is something we don’t want to happen in the next game, and we have to consider that,” Sam stated.

Throughout the match against Tonga, Sam’s frustration was evident as he encouraged his players from the sidelines, pushing them to work harder and generate more scoring chances.

He believes the team has the ability to elevate their performance and is eager to see them showcase their skills on the court.

The pressure will increase tomorrow when Fiji faces New Zealand at 4 pm at the Friendship Hall in the Solomon Islands.
