The Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) has confirmed that all Fijian soldiers currently deployed in the Middle East are safe and accounted for, amid recent escalated tensions in the region involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.
RFMF Commander Jone Kalouniwai stated that recent security assessments show that current hostilities are limited to specific operational targets and have not impacted the areas where Fijian personnel are stationed. Importantly, there are no known threats directed at the Fijian contingents currently deployed.
The RFMF is actively monitoring the situation using official intelligence channels and has established adequate force-protection measures to ensure the safety and welfare of their personnel.
Families of the deployed soldiers, as well as the public, are encouraged to remain calm and to refer exclusively to official RFMF communications for updates as the situation evolves. This approach underscores the military’s commitment to transparency and the safety of its members, fostering a sense of reassurance in the community during these uncertain times.
