The Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has announced that its mid-season player transfer window will take place from June 16 to June 30. This 16-day period will enable football clubs across the nation to execute player transfers and request International Transfer Certificates (ITCs). Rohitesh Narayan, the player registration and transfer manager, emphasized the necessity of adhering to the established procedures during this critical window.

Clubs are reminded that a player can only be transferred once per season; thus, any player who switched teams during the January transfer window will not be eligible to transfer again in this mid-year window. This restriction aligns with regulations previously highlighted by Narayan, which aim to ensure fair play and proper management of player movements.

For women’s football, transfers will only be permitted in legitimate cases, and clubs must provide acceptable reasons for such requests. Necessary documentation for transfers includes an original district transfer certificate signed by the district president and secretary, along with a completed player license form.

Narayan also cautioned that documentation submitted on the last day must comply with all requirements; incomplete or tardy submissions will be rejected. Fiji FA is advocating for all district affiliates to follow these guidelines meticulously to avoid any disappointment, especially as teams seek to strengthen their rosters for the second half of the season.

Reflecting on the upcoming transfer window, it presents a significant opportunity for teams to enhance their squads. This can lead to improved performances, greater competitiveness, and excitement for both clubs and their supporters in the remainder of the season.

Hopeful anticipation surrounds the potential for fresh talent and strategic shifts that could positively impact Fijian football in both men’s and women’s leagues.
